Edwin Sakala began his educational journey at Mambilima Primary School in Matero, where he did Grades 1 to 5. He later moved to a community school, completing Grades 6 and 7 as the best-performing pupil. His junior secondary schooling took place at Matero Boys, and he completed his high school at Nelson Mandela Secondary School, where he was appointed Preventive Maintenance Prefect and served as Assistant Librarian, roles that reflected his discipline and leadership even at a young age.
